(LEA Series in Human Factors) , HCI International '99 is the 8th conference in a series of major events related to research, development, and practice in human-computer interaction. HCI International '99 is held in Munich, Germany, August 22-27, 1999. The conference provides a major international forum for exchanging and discussing latest results and developments related to analyzing, designing, developing, applying, and evaluating information and communication technologies for work, leisure and personal growth. Under the general theme of Creating New Relationships, new links and synergies are explored between information technologies and their users, among people working together, and in the context of the rapidly evolving global information society. Four major areas are in the focus of the program: - Ergonomics and Health Aspects of Working with Computers - Human-Computer Interfaces - Organizational Aspects of Information and Communication Technologies - Communication and Interaction in Information Networks. The two-volume conference proceedings contain 540 papers from 30 different countries. The papers included in the program were selected on the basis of reviews done by the program committee members and by leading researchers organizing special sessions centered around topics of particular interest. The first volume "Human-Computer Interaction - Ergonomics and User Interfaces" begins with a set of papers related to health and ergonomics issues of the physical work environment. The major part of Vol. 1 is dedicated to contributions addressing novel concepts, techniques, and studies for user interfaces and interaction techniques. A number of papers in this volume present research in usability engineering as well as methods and processes for the design and development of user interfaces. Volume 2 "Human-Computer Interaction - Information, Communication, and Cooperation" puts the main emphasis on the informative and communicative aspects of computer use. A larger number of contributions is concerned with computer-supported cooperation using a wide variety of different techniques, .... ISBN 0805833927 -

Titel: Computer graphics programming : GKS - The Graphics Standard. Symbolic Computation - Computer Graphics - Systems and Applications. 2., rev. and enlarged ed.
Verlag: Berlin ; Heidelberg ; New York ; London ; Paris ; Tokyo : Springer, 1987.
Beschreibung: XXIII, 651 S. : 100 graph. Darst. ; 25 cm, gebundene Ausgabe,
Zustand: geringe Gebrauchs- u. Lagerspuren, sehr gutes Exemplar. Sprache: Englisch ; G. Enderle ; K. Kansy ; G. Pfaff, Symbolic Computation - Computer Graphics, Systems and Applications. This second edition presents GKS - the first international standard for computer graphics. The GKS concepts which establish a common framework of computer graphics principles are introduced. The book contains a detailed presentation of computer graphics programming with GKS, both in Pascal and FORTRAN programming language. The main differences from the first edition are as follows: - All changes incorporated in GKS as a result of the final ISO letter ballot have been included. - The language bindings, primarily FORTRAN and Pascal, have been updated to reflect the latest versions of the GKS Language Bindings Standard. - The Pascal examples have been modified to reflect the traditional printed appearance of Pascal programs (e.g., keywords of the language are printed in bold letters). - The three-dimensional (3D) extension of GKS has been completely revised. A new part (Part IV) presents in detail the proposed GKS-3D Standard which adds a complete set of 3D functions to GKS. - The new projects on a Computer Graphics Metafile (CGM) and on Computer Graphics Interfaces for graphical devices (CG I) have been taken into consideration, where appropriate. This second edition will reinforce the original goal of this book, namely: to offer a complete reference for understanding, using, learning, teaching, and impiementing the Graphical Kernel System and its environment.
